General Information

Mission Statement

The mission of the Engineering branch is to protect the health, safety and welfare of the County and its residents under Federal, State and local laws and regulations by providing administration to the Solid Waste management, and Subdivision / Mapping divisions and the Flood Control District.

Divisions

Engineering Branch consists of the following divisions:

Solid Waste Management:

The Solid Waste Division is responsible for the cost-effective management of solid waste in the County using environmentally sound methods. The Division administers the County Integrated Management Plan, the Source Reduction and Recycling Element, collection services, waste reduction and disposal, and also develops, operates and maintains solid waste facilities.

Surveyors and Flood Control:

The Surveyors Office is required by law to review, examine and maintain as public record surveyor records filed and survey monuments established in the County. These activities include review of land division and development, representation on the Site Plan Review Committee and response to the public concerning land division and boundary matters.
This division also administers the Flood Control District, the National Flood Insurance Program and responds to the public on flood zone matters.

Design/Graphics:

The Design/Graphics Division manages and develops projects and creates plans and maps for other divisions and county departments.
