2001 Annual Crop & Livestock Report Table of Contents The Annual Crop Report of the acreage, production, and value of the agricultural commodities produced in Tulare County during calendar year 2001 This report is the result of information gathered from many sources, and as always, it must be emphasized that the figures represent gross returns to the producer and do not indicate actual net profit. Agricultural Commissioner's Office Locations and Hours of Operation Only the main Visalia office is a full-service location. Additional offices are open during the scheduled times, primarily to provide additional locations for pesticide permit issuance. They are also available to take Ag pest questions or requests for phytosanitary or other inspections. Additionally, the department maintains an Ag Warehouse which is used by the vertebrate pest control and weed division, and for storing the chemicals and equipment involved with those functions. It is also the field-testing site where the Weights and Measures division tests trucks equipped with liquid and LPG measuring devices. Tulare County Rural Crimes Task Force The County of Tulare has developed the Tulare County Agricultural Crimes Investigations Unit. Tulare County's Agricultural Commissioner, District Attorney's Office, and the Sheriff's Department, make up the task force. The task force is an interactive team working together to develop problem solving and crime control techniques, to encourage timely reporting of crimes, and to evaluate the results of these activities.
